Alexandra’s foray into glass enamelling has also added extra depth into some of these pieces. An apt technique comparing her learning journey to that of the Lotus.
The story behind this collection is a spiritual one of rebirth and Spiritual awakening. A Lotus comes from the mud, which it needs for nutrient’s and to grow (like our self development journey). It pushes through and creates this perfect, clean and Beautiful Bud. It represents going through adversity and coming out the other side a better and stronger person. It rises form the mud without stains, at the break day and returns to the murky water each evening.
The Lotus flower in bloom can be seen to represent a mind opening up to everything and everyone meaning one is on the path to spiritual enlightenment.
