Robin necklace

This cute, little, cheeky Robin has been lovingly carved in wax and cast in sterling silver using the lost wax process.

A lovely gift of comfort and love, as well as a thoughtful Christmas present. Robins are a much-loved symbol of Christmas here in the UK and feature on many traditional Christmas cards. They also hold a special place in our hearts as a symbol of hope, warmth and remembrance, with the beautiful saying, “When robins appear, loved ones are near.” A meaningful gift to remind someone that those we love are never truly far away, making it a precious keepsake to treasure at Christmas and throughout the year.

This little being started out as a New Zealand fantail and I adapted it. In New Zealand the fantail has a similar meaning and comfort as the robin does to us in England.

How was it made?… well it was a labour of love in more ways than one. The carving and visualising the form in a compacted 3D form took quite a while. However it was all worth it as there is less metal which makes it a good price for gifts, it is lighter which makes it more comfortable to wear and it falls and sits nicely on the body.
